spending money :s

We've all been in the position where we want something really bad but don't know if we necessarily need it. The first bit of karma-ly advice today is "DO THE 30 DAY TEST, WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT REALLY BAD AND THEN IN 30 DAYS LOOK AT IT AGAIN AND SEE IF YOU STILL REALLY WANT IT" There have been so many times when I have found lists of "things I need" that are a couple months old. I will look at the things that I didn't buy and most of the time I'm thankful I didn't make those purchases. Always ask yourself if you need that item. If it is not a necessity then don't waste your money on it!

Now we can't always do a 30 day test when we want something like Starbucks. So the second bit of advice is , "DON'T SPEND MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE". I believe its perfectly fine to indulge every once and a while, but I've learned the hard way like so many other people, that spending money you don't have ends up totally sucking:( There are a lot of purchases on my lovely maxed out credit card that I honestly don't even know why I bought it! There are also so many things that I don't have any more. So if you don't have money to buy that shirt, Starbucks, video game, candy, etc. then DON'T! If you need things that are necessary to your life and well being then spend the money you don't have, but if not buying it wont affect your life LEAVE IT ALONE!

Think about these two bits of karma and try to act on them this weekend:)

What is Karma?

We all have heard of Karma, but what does it really mean? Most of the time you hear it after something bad happens to someone after they have done something bad to you and usually "KARMA!" is yelled or someone states that, "Karma is a B****". When good things happen to people they are told they must have "good Karma". So how does one achieve good karma? The law of karma states that for every event that occurs there will follow an event whose existence was caused by the first event. The following event will either be "bad" or "good" according to the nature of the first event. So if our acts are mostly good natured then we would mostly have "good karma". That is the intent of this blog, to give you a few ways each day(if I remember) to get on the road to a more positive and happy life :).

Today's first way to achieve good fortune is "DON'T REQUIRE A VERBAL THANKS". So often I find myself doing something and waiting for someone to say thank you. While we all know that saying thank you is polite, we should not expect it. When you expect it the "thank you" it somewhat looses its value. When you have done something for someone the act is sort of a gift to that person. If we are trying to achieve good karma we aren't doing acts of kindness for a pat on the back. We are doing something out of the kindness of our hearts.

Second way of the day, "GIVE ANOTHER DRIVER THE PARKING SPOT THAT YOU SPOTTED FIRST". So many of us go through this every day, especially when parking at a college campus. Most of us are rushing to get to where we are going because we are usually running late. Instead of turning your blinker on so that the other car coming the other way wont steal the spot, wave to them and smile and give up that spot, you'll probably find another one in just a few minutes anyways. You never know what position other people are in, they might be running a lot later than you or maybe they've been looking for a spot longer than you have. Who knows maybe next time you will get a spot quicker or someone will give up a spot to you, after all its all up to Karma, right?!

I hope you enjoyed my first post and come back to discover ways to give yourself and others good fortune! REMEMBER BEE HAPPY:))
